Work through each section in order. Check off items as you go. By the end, you'll have consistent, AI-ready business listings across all the platforms that matter.
Step 1: Define Your Canonical NAP
This is your "source of truth." Every listing should match this exactly.
Business Name (exactly as it should appear)
Street Address (including suite/unit)
City, State, ZIP
Phone Number (exact format)
Website URL
Business Email
Step 2: Audit the 7 Key Directories
Google Business Profile — Search for yourself, verify NAP matches, check hours and categories
Zillow Agent Profile — Check name, contact info, current brokerage, active status
Realtor.com — Verify credentials, office info, and contact details
Redfin — Check if listing exists, verify all info matches
Yelp — Search for business listing, claim if needed, verify NAP
Facebook Business Page — Check page info, contact details, address
BBB — Search for listing, verify business info and accreditation status
Step 3: Check for These Common Issues
Abbreviation inconsistencies — St vs Street, Ave vs Avenue, Ste vs Suite
Phone format variations — (555) 123-4567 vs 555-123-4567 vs 5551234567
Business name variations — Inc, LLC, "Realtor" suffix, team vs individual
Old office addresses — Check for previous locations you've moved from
Previous brokerage info — Make sure old affiliations are updated
"Retired" or "inactive" flags — Search for old listings marking you as no longer active
Duplicate listings — Look for multiple profiles on the same platform
Step 4: Fix Issues
Claim all unclaimed listings — Verify ownership of each profile
Update NAP to match canonical version — Copy-paste, don't retype
